Overview

At just four years old, In Fa has already experienced more trauma than most children face in a lifetime. She comes from a family affected by violent crime, substance abuse, and severe poverty. Following concerns for her safety, she was removed from the care of a family member and now lives with her grandmother, who has become her primary caregiver.

Although her grandmother is healthy and determined to provide a safe home, she struggles every day to meet even the family’s most basic needs. Despite these challenges, In Fa deserves the opportunity to grow up in a loving, secure environment where she can recover, learn, and simply enjoy being a child.

Family

In Fa’s father is serving a prison sentence after being convicted of multiple murders (x30) committed over a four-year period. Her mother is involved in prostitution and drug dealing and has been unable to provide a safe and stable home for her daughter.

After concerns arose regarding sexual abuse by an uncle, In Fa was rescued and placed in the care of her grandmother. Since then, her grandmother has taken on the responsibility of raising and protecting her despite having very limited financial resources.

The household lives in extreme poverty. Providing regular meals, suitable clothing, healthcare, and educational opportunities is a constant struggle, and every day involves difficult choices simply to survive.

Hobbies & Dreams

At four years old, In Fa should be spending her days playing, learning, making friends, and discovering the world around her. Instead, her early years have been overshadowed by instability and trauma.

With the right support, she can begin to experience the childhood every young child deserves. Access to nutritious food, early childhood education, healthcare, and a safe environment can help her build confidence, develop emotionally, and prepare for a brighter future.

Every child deserves the chance to dream, regardless of the circumstances into which they were born.

Risks

Without ongoing support, In Fa faces numerous risks associated with growing up in chronic poverty, including:

  • Malnutrition and poor physical development due to inadequate nutrition.
  • Irregular school attendance or dropping out because of financial hardship.
  • Increased risk of neglect resulting from parental substance abuse.
  • Exposure to criminal activity and unsafe environments.
  • Poor mental and emotional wellbeing caused by prolonged instability.
  • Increased likelihood of remaining trapped in the cycle of intergenerational poverty.
  • Higher risk of exploitation, child labour, or involvement in harmful activities as she grows older.

Early intervention through nutrition, education, healthcare, and family support can significantly reduce these risks and improve long-term outcomes.

Healthcare & Nutrition Checks

Regular check-ups, essential medicines, vaccinations, and emergency medical assistance.

Education & Training

Eliminating the financial burdens that force parents to pull children from school and into dangerous informal work.

Healthy & Nutrious Food

Therapeutic food and targeted nutritional support to prevent malnutrition, which severely affects cognitive development and makes children easy targets for exploitation.

New Cothing & Shoes

Covering hidden school costs, including mandatory uniforms, sturdy shoes, and learning supplies, so children stay in the classroom instead of fields or factories.

Prevention From Child Labour Expolitation

Stopping exploitation before it starts. By removing the financial emergencies that bankrupt rural families, we eliminate the desperate conditions where children are traded for debt or forced into hazardous day labor.

Prevention From Abuse & Child Sex Trafficking

Safe environments, identity documentation support, and tracking to prevent children from being targeted by labor or sex traffickers.

The poverty rate is 4.2% for people without a completed education, falling to 3.0% for those who finish school.
