Overview
Malisa is growing up in circumstances that no child should ever have to endure. She lives with her mother and father, along with 19 other relatives, in a single overcrowded house in one of the poorest communities in Udon Thani.
With so many people sharing such a small space and so little income coming into the household, life is a daily struggle. Food is never guaranteed, and there are times when Malisa goes two or even three days without a proper meal. Hunger has become a normal part of her childhood.
Despite these unimaginable hardships, Malisa continues to smile, learn, and hope for a brighter future.
Family
Twenty-two people share the same small home, where privacy is almost impossible and resources are stretched far beyond their limits. Every meal, every item of clothing, and every household expense must be shared among a large extended family living in severe poverty.
Her parents do everything they can to care for their daughter, but with so many mouths to feed, there is simply never enough. Even when food is available, portions are often small, and the family must constantly decide which essential needs can be met and which must wait.
Basic items such as nutritious food, clean clothes, school supplies, toiletries, and healthcare are luxuries that are often beyond their reach.
Hobbies & Dreams
Like many young children, Malisa enjoys playing with other children, laughing, and discovering the world around her. She dreams of attending school every day, making friends, and one day building a life where she never has to worry about hunger again.
She hopes to become someone who can help others in need—whether as a teacher, a nurse, or simply an adult who can provide a safe and happy home for her own family. Her dreams are not of wealth or possessions, but of security, education, and the chance to live a life free from constant hardship.
With the opportunity to receive regular meals, an education, and a stable environment, those dreams can become possible.
